Cobweb Solutions launches a new managed service for Dedicated Exchange 2010

Cobweb Solutions launches a new managed service for Dedicated Exchange 2010, including integration into a customers’ existing Active Directory, in response to the growing demand for private cloud solutions which deliver an integrated user and management experience.

Cobweb Solutions, the leading Solution Service Provider of flexible IT solutions are delighted to announce the launch of their Dedicated Exchange 2010 service, which provides an advanced, reliable and secure messaging and collaboration solution based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 and VMware vSphere 4.  The solution primarily removes the need for organisations to host their own email servers.

Cobweb, an authorised VMware Hosting Provider and part of the VMware Partner Community for Virtualising Exchange, were one of only seven UK-based founding pilot partners for VSPP, requiring VMware Certified Professionals across their business.

Cobweb CTO, Dan Germain, believes that the service allows organisations, from 500 seats and upwards, to consolidate their messaging and collaboration environments, improve business productivity and reduce operational costs.  With no capital expenditure and predictable costs, this private-cloud service provides scalability and performance for organisations to meet their every changing needs.

Integration with an established on-premise Active Directory is an important development for Cobweb and provides customers with single sign-on for users, unified user management, and wider application support.  The fragmentation of user management can often be a barrier to the adoption of cloud services for enterprise organisations.

Dan Germain comments; “VMware vSphere v4 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 join our strategic best-of-breed technologies that also includes MessageLabs, EMC and Parallels, to form the basis of our managed cloud platforms.  Our significant experience as world-leading Hosted Exchange experts, equips us to provide advances in platform resilience, application performance and integration flexibility; resulting in a managed service that uses the latest and greatest technologies with a lower total cost of ownership”

Whilst Cobweb’s new Dedicated Exchange 2010 service is delivered as a private-cloud solution, it is built, managed and hosted by an organisation with a track-record of hosting since 1996.  Customers benefit from established ISO27001 facilities and ISO9001 processes for data security and assured quality management.  All Cobweb managed services are supported by a UK-based technical service team available 24/7/365.

Dan Germain goes on to say “When moving to any cloud service, it’s important that the experience is risk free for the organisation and painless for the end-user.  In the majority of deployments, it’s possible to move from on-premise Microsoft Exchange servers to our Dedicated Exchange service with no end-user disruption – settings, user name and passwords remain the same.”
