Set in a leafy conservation area of Sunderland, this magnificent Victorian building was converted into Cafe Spice in the year 2000. It took several months of intensive repair and refurbishment to turn it into one of the most luxurious Indian restaurants in the North of England.
We have a well stocked bar and spacious lounge area. Our wine is list is of excellent value "so we are told" and we have included old favourites as well as new world wines, carefully selected to be compatible with spicy foods.
The main restaurant is set in four adjacent rooms, totalling eighty covers.
Like all good eateries, the main feature is our own menu. Although our style is contemporary, we have not compromised on authenticity.
Throughout our history, spanning over decades, we firmly believe that the best cooking need not rely on hot spicing but rather on the use of the subtle and often fragrant herbs and spices.
The dishes we have on our menu reflect our belief in the "freshly cooked and lightly spiced" philosophy.
Ample on road parking plus we have our own car park. The whole concept of combining good location, luxury dining facilities, good service, contemporary style of cooking and presentation of food, etc. is proved to be the recipe for success.
We have had several press reviews and we have even been given a "five star" rating by our local press Sunderland Echo, but most important of all is the fact that it is very reassuring and encouraging for us to know when guests visit our restaurant and leave happy and satisfied, it may be your wish to visit our restaurant with your friends, family or
