I hold a Diploma in Counselling and am a Senior Accredited Counsellor, UKRCP Reg. Independent Counsellor. I am a fully qualified EMDR Therapist; I hold a Certificate in Supervision, have Group Facilitation Training and a Certificate in CBT. I also have specialist training in working with Cancer Issues from The Cancer Counselling Trust, also Training in working with families with physical Illness, from the Tavistock & Portman NHS Trust; I also apply my EMDR training to various Trauma work and Integrated EMDR for Migraines and Headaches. I have worked in many different organisations, some of which include: School Counsellor; Primary Care Counselling in NHS G.P surgeries;Therapy group at a Private Psychiatric Hospital, Hospice work where I facilitated and supported a team of Doctors, Nurses and Carers; I supervised at an Agency supporting Families and Individuals, I have also worked as a Counsellor at a young persons’ agency. I have offered services ranging from Seminar provision for Oncologists, Staff Training and Development, Team Building, Managerial Supervision for a Hospice. I have also run Supervision groups for 2 young person agencies. I also enjoy running my own busy Private Practice. My counselling ethos is based on self-discovery. As a Person-Centred counsellor, I am non-directive and non-analytical in my approach. Although I have a strong interest in working with Cancer issues and all life-threatening Illness, I have a passion for all areas of my practice which include depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationships, sexuality and many other issues.
