The DSA was established in 1965 and is the recognised trade body for Direct Selling companies in the UK. It aims to protect, serve and promote its members and direct selling as a whole, and ensure high a level of business ethics and customer service. DSA Member companies account for 59% of direct sales in the UK. The DSA has worked to develop two codes which all its members must comply with :- DSA Code of Practice - a consumer code which demands fair selling methods, a 14 day cooling off period for customers and the provision of an independent Code Administrator. DSA Code of Business Conduct - this covers the fair and honest promotion of independent business opportunities in direct selling. It provides additional protection of investments in business opportunities.
