I have been helping adults with a range of psychological problems since the year 2000, when I gave up my professional accountancy practice in favour of my new-found metier, counselling and psychotherapy. Since then I have seen hundreds of men and women from all walks of life and with different sexual preferences, able bodied and disabled, who came, ostensibly, for many different reasons, but all with one object in mind -- to gain relief from the internal conflict that was distressing them. I have used different treatment models, some time-limited brief therapy models for EAP clients and some long-term psychotherapeutic models for clients whose condition was more severe, and my clients have experienced large measures of relief from both models. I have a Diploma in Person-Centred Therapy, which is the bedrock foundation of all I do in my practice, but I am widely read in other counselling modalities and they also inform the work I do, which is always tailored to the individual needs of the client. I am also trained in the use of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) which I employ whenever the modality is appropriate for the needs of my clients. I am trained as a teacher in Further Education and have taught Counselling up to Diploma level in several colleges for a number of years. My knowledge, experience and skill has been accredited by the BACP, a body which regulates its members to protect the public from harm.
