Shereene Carnegie is a registered freelance dramatherapist with extensive experience and skills in working with children and young people who have a wide range of issues including low confidence, anxiety, depression and mild to profound learning difficulties. Shereene is based within South London and is able to offer both weekly individual and group dramatherapy sessions, to children and young people, in addition to supporting their parents/carers with exploring their own feelings and issues related to their child's situation. Using a person-centred approach Shereene creates a comfortable space in which difficult problems, and unconscious feelings can be safely explored either verbally or through metaphor and the creative arts such as drama, story-telling, play, art and music. Those who have difficulty expressing themselves verbally are encouraged to use gesture, instruments, or play instead. Sessions do not rely on cognitive ability but address each individual's needs at their own level. As a member of the Health and care professions council (HCPC) and the British Association of Dramatherapists (BADth), Shereene works within their ethical framework guidelines. Shereene has a private practice, based within South London, for individual dramatherapy. She also provides a bespoke dramatherapy package to schools and other educational settings within South London.
