The Sound Learning Centre The Sound Learning Centre was established in 1994 to provide assessments and sound, light and Neuro-developmental programmes for children and adults in order to improve social, emotional, behavioural or academic performance. We are known and respected internationally for our professional expertise, experience and holistic approach. Initially, we provide informal advice by offering a free telephone consultation whereby you can share your concerns and ask us questions, which we do our best to answer. During this initial stage, we can generally establish whether we are likely to be able to help and what next steps we recommend. We are also happy to communicate by email should this be your preference. During our assessments we take time to look at the difficulties in the context of the client's personal history, performance and abilities. We focus on how the auditory, visual and neuro-developmental systems are functioning and as a rule, if these systems are under stress, we observe that they affect performance and development, and of course, self-esteem. In our experience sensory difficulties may underlie many emotional and behavioural issues, as well as educational and social communication problems. Our goal is to give our clients a clear picture, personally explaining our findings in a jargon-free way and followed by written reports. We work with children and adults with a broad range of difficulties including Auditory Processing Disorder (APD), Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, speech and language difficulties, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to name but a few, and we use Auditory Integration Training (AIT) and Lightwave Stimulation (LWS) to help improve performance. We also provide a Neuro-developmental Programme (NDP) to help overcome some of the associated difficulties that individuals may experience with retained reflexes.
