The concept was conceived in December 2019 by entrepreneurs, Shabbir Mookhtiar and Dinesh Patil, after spotting a gap in the market for home-cooked food that could easily be delivered to people's homes through a simple mobile app. Upon opening the app, customers are presented with a wide selection of cuisines from home chefs who have set up their own "virtual restaurants" which provide the flexibility to decide when, what and how much they cook. Utilising industry leading cloud, AI and Machine Learning solutions, customer can order on the day or pre-order several days or even weeks in advance before enjoying their meal safe in the knowledge that their food has been safely prepared within the confines of the Food Standard Authority's framework. As part of Cook My Grub's Hygiene Promise, every chef is trained in allergy awareness and Hygiene Level 2. Additionally, Cook My Grub conducts its own internal hygiene audtis and trains all chefs, while supporting them with required local council registrations.
