The studio works to unveil and nurture a circular approach to the garment industry, working closely with community, makers and brands to encourage a more sustainable way of creating, wearing and maintaining garments. Raine is all about the body, focussing on what we wear, what we adorn ourselves with, and what we put on our skin. The art of alteration and repair is historic, deeply embedded in many cultures and societies. With our wider approach to fashion consumption having become more disposable and fast paced, the understanding of repair and alteration have faded from our day to day practices. Raine Studios acts to renew this in the local community, offering a plethora of repair and alteration services from jean hems to jacket re-lining, resizing garments to elbow patch repairs. Passing on the knowledge and skills of repair, Raine also offers workshops for the local community, including darning workshops to mend worn knitwear.
