What is osteopathy? Osteopaths are recognised as healthcare professionals by the British Medical Association. Osteopaths believe by correcting problems in the body's structure, the body's ability to function and to heal itself could be greatly improved. If the nerves, arteries and veins which provide nutrients or stimuli to a particular part of the body become obstructed through injury, illness and lifestyle factors, that part of the body it supplies can suffer as a result. It is therefore the Osteopaths job through their thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology and clinical experience to locate, identify (diagnose) and remove these obstructions (restrictions) therefore restoring health and wellbeing.
