Adat Global

Currently operating in the Nottingham area Adat Global imports high quality ethically traded items from various countries around the world. All of our carvers/weavers/jewellery makers and other artisans are paid directly by Adat Global and always well above the local wage. We are committed to increasing the income of deprived villages, families and individuals to allow them to purchase better education, medical supplies and basic needs for themselves and their communities.

We work on low mark up margins at our end to ensure the artist who made the product is paid handsomely for their fine work, and to ensure the customer at the end of this short chain gets an extremely high quality product at a very reasonable price.

Too many supposed ''fair trade'' companies and organisations spend ridiculous amounts on travel and lodgings as well as running their business inefficiently. This drives up the cost to the customer and results in overpriced goods of which very few are sold. The artisan is paid better per unit, which is of course progress, but insignificant levels of goods are ordered to make a significant difference to lifestyle.
