My approach is Person-Centred although I use other techniques from other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, when I feel that it may be appropriate. Relaxation techniques may be useful for clients suffering from stress and anxiety-related problems and keeping a Stress Diary may also help.
You will have the opportunity to work in a more creative way. You don''t need to be good at writing or art, all you need is a vague interest in creativity and the desire to get to know yourself better.
Some ways I work creatively include journalling, creative writing, painting, making collages, visualisation, relaxation, sensory work, working with sand, pebbles, or other materials, working with photographs, cards and other images, working with metaphors, dream-work and looking at memories, hopes and fears.
I work with people on a range of issues such as abuse, addictions, depression, bereavement, parenting and family matters, loss of direction, low self-esteem, relationship problems, stress and work-related problems.
