We are recently established and based near Portsmouth in Hampshire. We were formed after an evening spent watching the sun go down after a long and stressful day.
This stressful day was my best friends Wedding, a Wedding which I helped to plan in eleven weeks and when, at nine o''clock, I finally got a chance to sit down and relax, I felt at a loose end. I was sad that it was all over, I had enjoyed the stress surrounding the Wedding; including the late night phone calls trying to find venues and suppliers. Although I had considered Wedding Co-ordinating previously, I did not really believe in myself until I was saying goodbye to the guests and was told over and over again that I should consider doing it professionally.
Only the morning after, another Bride-to-be approached me asking for my help. It was then that I started to take Wedding Co-ordinating seriously so, a week later I enrolled and completed a Wedding Planning Diploma which was written by the Director of the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners. I started working on the administration and advertising side of Wedding Planning, it was here that Weddings of Distinction was born. I can honestly say I could not be happier and wish so much that I had believed in myself earlier.

WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
Years ago, hiring a Wedding Co-ordinator was viewed as an extravagant and unnecessary expense. Nowadays that view has changed dramatically and more and more Bridal couples are seeing the advantages of having their day professionally planned.
One of the reasons hiring a Wedding Co-ordinator has become so popular is because of the stresses we now, as a society put ourselves under. Since it takes approximatley 250 hours to plan a wedding, it''s becoming impossible to make these hours available. This is one of the many reasons people do not get married straight after engagement.
Some people are under the impression that by hiring a Wedding Co-ordinator, you lose control of your own Wedding. In actual fact we enhance the whole experience. We take away the stress and become somewhat of a Personal Assistant; leaving you free to relax and enjoy your engagement.
As Wedding Co-ordinators, our role includes but is not limited to: making sure that everything is done and paid on time. We make sure you get the best out of your suppliers, ensuring that all problems are sorted as soon as they arise. We act as a liason between yourself and your suppliers. Most importantly we ensure, wherever possible, that you stay within your budget*. We achieve this through negotiating with your choosen suppliers and Venues. Unlike many other Wedding Co-ordinators, we do not take commission from any supplier, nor do we act as "a middle man" since you get invoiced directly from the supplier. Therefor you know what you are getting, and how much you are getting it for.
One of the other important roles we have as Wedding Co-ordinators is to overview supplier contracts for potential problems. Simply put, we are you "ENsurance" policy as we ensure you have an exciting, stress-free and relaxing engagement
