In the past Matthew has worked at Napiers Clinic, The Relaxation Centre, Bristol Cancer Help Centre, and Penny Brohn Cancer Care as a professional massage therapist and bodyworker. Matthew runs a thriving private practice from a lovely, warm, comfortable, peaceful therapy studio in Bristol, BS7.

Matthew provides individually tailored massage and bodywork treatments for a wide range of individuals of all ages, designed to address many health issues and to enhance general well-being. The initial treatment session includes a free consultation, during which the client's health history, and current needs can be discussed. Discounts are available for a course of treatments, and concessionary rates available for those on a low income. Details will never be discussed or shared with anyone, except in exceptional circumstances with the relevant medical professionals (this is exceptionally rare). Matthew is not a trained counsellor, but is a good listener, and clients may talk to him in confidence. Matthew is qualified to degree level, with a BSc. (Hons) Health Sciences: Complementary Therapies (2:1) from Westminster University (1999-2002), and Certificates in Therapeutic Massage (APNT 1994), Sports Massage (FSMT 1996) and a diploma in Aromatherapy (Dip. ISA 1996). Matthew is a member of IPTI.

Matthew has undertaken numerous further training courses in, amongst others: deep tissue massage, hands-free massage, spiritual anatomy, massage for pregnancy and integrative bodywork.

While at the University of Westminster, Matthew studied under Leon Chaitow, completing modules in Palpation Skills, Neuromuscular Techniques, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Positional Release Techniques, as well as Craniosacral Therapy, and advanced Anatomy and Physiology. Matthew is a self-employed professional therapist. He has run practices in both London and Bristol.

Matthew worked for over 7 years at The Bristol Cancer Help Centre, and later at Penny Brohn Cancer Care, providing massage, aromatherapy, bodywork and emotional support for people living with cancer, and their supporters. Matthew continues to provide holistic treatment for people living with cancer in his private practice in Bishopston. He also worked at Napiers Clinic and The Relaxation Centre in Bristol.
