FJ Cakes & Bakes is based in Little Downham, Ely and is run by brothers, Mark and Sean Foster-Johnson, our goal is simply to produce great quality tasting foods, and share our passion for good food and customer service. Mark is a chef, and Sean has worked in customer retail for several years.
We will be preparing and baking and foods on site where possible in our open plan kitchen and we will be teaming up with like minded people on other products to bring you in our retail area.
We are always open to suggestions but to give you an idea on the sort of things we are planning to do, here is a brief list:
Cakes (Madeira cakes, Carrot cakes, Muffins, Victoria sponge cake, and more)
Tray Bakes (Chocolate Brownies, Flapjacks, Millionaire Shortbreads, cookies)
Sandwiches/Ciabattas (Using good ingredients and fresh bread from an artisan baker)
Salads - In the summer and for the more health conscious people, we will have a range of salads and also some side salads to accompany main meals and barbecues etc
Tarts ( Custard tarts, Bakewell tarts, chocolate tarts)
Ambient/Hot Food (Jacket Potatoes, Sausage Rolls)
Drinks (Hot Drinks, Fizzy Drinks, Fentimans, Folkingtons juices and more)
Retail Produce (where possible from local suppliers, Grasmere farm meat, Gluten free produce from Glebe farm, and more)
Exotic Meats (We will initially trial this but we wanted something different exotic meats seemed a popular idea and we felt obliged to listen! Kangaroo, Bison, wild boar, Camel and more available in store!
We will be changing our range as and when possible too, we will keep the most products and most importantly we will listen to what our customers want and try and accommodate everyone, if there is something you are looking for and we don''t have, we will see if we can make or source if for you where possible.
