Chelmsford
Essex

About The Jís Hospice Ė caring for young adults with life limiting conditions The J''s Hospice is an emerging hospice, developed through the drive and vision of the local community to see enhanced care and support for young adults with life limiting conditions, such as cancer and a wide range of complex neurological and metabolic conditions. The Jís provides nursing, respite and end of life care, advice and advocacy, emotional care and support for the young adult and their family in the comfort and security of their own home. Our aim is to encourage young adults to live life to the full, however short their lives. To provide this much needed support to young adults with life limiting conditions in Harlow and across Essex, and to realise our goal of having our own hospice building, which will be the first and only young adult hospice in the East of England, we rely on continuing efforts to fundraise, from individuals, companies and our public fundraising events. There are lots of ways in which you can support us achieve our aim of maintaining the best possible quality of life for the young adults we care for and we will always greatly appreciate any support you can give. If you would like more information on our services, or to be involved in supporting us in our fundraising activity, then please contact Dominique Brunning on 01245 475474 or email Dominique@theJshospice.org.uk or visit our website www.thejshospice.org.uk for more information.

CharityKnowHow

Are you hoping to start a charity, which will thrive? Do you want to make your existing charity as effective as possible? CharityKnowHow can help you! CharityKnowHow is run by Nigel Geary-Andrews. Through working at the Charity Commission for over 16 years and lately through CharityKnowHow, Nigel Geary-Andrews is well qualified to provide detailed help, assistance, training and advice to charity trustees and staff helping them to ensure they follow best governance practice, and that they operate within the law. Specifically, CharityKnowHow offers the following: Assistance with establishing a charity, including advising on the most appropriate legal structure, help with drafting a suitable governing document, ensuring the organisation's purposes are charitable according to the law, and ensuring good governance procedures are developed and introduced at the outset. Help with getting charities registered with the Charity Commission if they are legally required to do so. Nigel knows the Commission's procedures and requirements very well, and can represent the trustees in their dealings with the Commission. A full range of advice and assistance to existing charities too. This ranges from verbal advice and formal written advice up to full governance reviews and the drafting of policies. Nigel is also available to provide training to trustees concerning their legal duties. Services concerning ensuring legal compliance. The law relating to charities is wide-ranging and can be complex, and the Charity Commission is increasingly unable to provide detailed, bespoke advice to trustees to guide them. However, failure to follow the law can lead to the Charity Commission exercising its extensive legal powers in relation to a charity, and can lead to trustees being held personally financially liable for any breaches of trust they have committed. Nigel has extensive experience of advising charities about how to comply with the law, and guiding them to providing the information the Charity Commission expects to see. CharityKnowHow - For all your charity needs!
