Premier Scans has 2 private ultrasound clinics based in Lichfield, Staffordshire and Lutterworth, Leicestershire. These independent private ultrasound clinics are owned and run by Ms Sharon Wilkinson who is a Registered Midwife and has been an ultrasound specialist for over 13 years.
All our ultrasound scans are carried out in private rooms with seating for you and your relatives. The dedicated monitors allow you and your family the perfect view of your babys first images, whilst our ultrasound specialists talk you through every step. Depending upon your selected pregnancy package, you will have the option of photographs of your ultrasound scan; a short film of your baby scan on a DVD and your pictures transferred onto a CD, allowing you to take home these cherished memories of your babys first images.
Our extended and flexible scan appointment system means you can be seen at a time and date that suits you, including evenings and weekends.
All the sonographers at Premier Scans are highly experienced medical professionals trained in human anatomy, physiology and pathology applied to obstetrics and gynaecological ultrasound. Our Sonographers are regulated by the HPC (Health Professional Council) and have carried out hundreds of ultrasound baby scans in both NHS and private sectors. They are not medical doctors however they have passed all Post Graduate exams in the field of ultrasound and are accredited by the Fetal Medicine Foundation. It is therefore fair to say that your first class experience with us is of the utmost importance to the whole team at Premier Scans.
An Early Pregnancy Scan (sometimes called a Viability Scan or Dating Scan) is often done to provide reassurance in the very early stages of your pregnancy. You can have an Early Pregnancy Scan any time from 6 weeks onwards as we should see a heartbeat although, at this stage it is very small (approximately 5mm). These dates are calculated from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), not the day of conception. Before 5 weeks it is not possible to see any signs of a pregnancy with current ultrasound technology. Waiting a few weeks will allow you to see more, and if all looks good at 8 weeks you will be reassured to know the chance of miscarriage is very low.
A sexing scan (also known as a gender scan) can determine the sex (or gender) of your baby from 16 weeks of pregnancy. Our baby sexing scans at Premier Scans are highly reliable, when good views are obtained the accuracy of our prediction at Premier Scans is 97%. If however we are unable to obtain good views of the sex of the baby then we may send you for a walk to try and change the babys position. If we are still unable to obtain clear views then we will arrange for you to return (free of charge) for one further visit.
Sexing scans or gender scans at this early gestation are not routinely offered on the NHS but you may have one privately without affecting your NHS entitlement. If an abnormality is detected or suspected on your scan the Sonographer will discuss this with you. You will be given a report to take away and an appointment will be arranged for you at the hospital within a few days. You will then be scanned again, once a diagnosis has been made the management of the pregnancy will be discussed further
Why not share a once in a lifetime experience with your partner, family and even your friends. At Premier Scans we use the wonders of 4D technology to make it possible to see into the world of your unborn child. 4D scans have the added dimension of real time imaging enabling you to capture the miracle of your babys development including smiling, yawning, arm stretches, kicking and sleeping. 3D scans tend to refer to the static images of your baby in 3 dimensions. 4D scans refer to the moving images of your baby.
At Premier Scans all our 3d/4d HD ultrasound pregnancy scans are carried out in private rooms with seating for you and your relatives. The dedicated monitor allows you the perfect view of your baby's first images, whilst our ultrasound specialists talk you through every step. You will be given photographs of your ultrasound scan (3d scan); a short film of your baby scan on a DVD (4d scan) and we will transfer your pictures onto a CD, allowing you to take home these cherished memories of your baby's first images.
