Sports massage is much deeper than normal massage. It can be used to correct problems and assist in recovery from injury. Used regularly Sports massage can reduce the risk of sporting injuries. My name is Kathy Huyton. I started my career as a Gym Instructor at the age of 18. I progressed to Assistant Health Club Manager 3 years later. After having Major surgery on my hip I decided to retrain in Sports Therapy to help people who were otherwise fit and healthy, return from injury or surgery. I trained in Sports Massage Therapy and gained VtCt Level 4. I then went on to complete an FdST in Sport and Exercise Therapies. I have worked with the North West Spinal Injuries Team and Southport and Formby District General Hospital. I have also worked at numerous Rugby and Football games across the North west providing Sports Massage and First Aid. More recently I spent six months working at a Chiropractors using Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) to rehabilitate patients with subluxations of the spine. I can provide Sports massage, Sport injury management, postural assessments, Range of movement tests, wobble board exercises and advice on stretching and care of Sports Injuries.
