undertaking a review of the organisations entire procurement activity which would result in a report and a set of recommendations covering corporate governance with regard to procurement, strategic leadership and direction, the organisation and management of procurement activity, a spend analysis and purchase-to-payment (P2P) process mapping;
brought in by a client to undertake a specific procurement project such as carrying out a specific tendering exercise or negotiation of a specific contract. Projects are usually limited in scope and have pre-agreed timescales associated with them;

where MCC are commissioned to generate cost based reductions across a range of spend categories. CBR projects tend to be either fixed price and on the basis of a share of the savings generated;
where MCC are commissioned to implement the recommendations of an MCC procurement healthcheck or improvements already identified by the client. These may include training and education programmes, implementing improved processes and procedures or the establishment of a new procurement function;
where MCC are called upon to give ad hoc advice to the boards of organisations and policymakers on such subjects as public sector procurement and efficiency, governance issues, ethical policies and strategic procurement management.
