Ben was introduced to me through a meeting that was set up by Sarah Williams http://www.therfl.co.ukat sarah.williams@rfl.uk.com at the RFL. The meeting discussed ways to go forward for Ben and blind people to participate in Rugby as a whole and to how we as a group could do this. This put peoples minds thinking and well that''s how i came up with the first rugby ball and glove for blind people of Great Britain. Now this can be for all other disabled persons, But we wanted to make sure Ben was catered for in all directions. He is now getting ready to do his level 1 certificate in coaching rugby to able bodied and disabled persons, I was asked to mentor Ben as I''m partially blind with a rare disease and a coach of rugby league and played to a good level in rugby league with Barrow border raiders. This means going back to the drawing board in order for Ben to be the first rugby league coach in UK and to have great success and to get the right coaching through Dean Thomas at Sheffield Eagles Head of Youth Performance Sheffield Eagles RLFC / dean.thomas@sheffieldeagles.com and myself Colin Wood Head of Sportechdsc www.sportechdsc.co.uk.This started a big chain of ideas and asked Ken Huckle to join aboard and start Sportechdsc with me. Ben himself has a loyal bunch of friends at Sheffield and all of staff and players enjoy helping Ben to follow his goal of being the first rugby league qualified coach, He is a happy lad and you can say he has his own fan club at Sheffield, all love working with him to what makes the team at Sheffield i feel bond a Little closer. Sportechdsc.co.uk is asking that now is the time for all to stand up and watch all the ideas unfold.
