Vibrant Sky

Contemporary clocks, jewellery and giftware, design and individually handmade at Durham. A member of the Contemporary Glass Society, and The Craft Council?s National Register of Makers, so you can be safe in the knowledge that you are getting ?the genuine article?, an individually handcrafted, original design? with a colourful Vibrant twist. How are the designs made? There are several stages to achieve these vivid and quirky designs. Coloured glass is cut to size, and layered and positioned in the chosen design layout. The designs may then be kiln fired 3 or 4 times, grinded 2 or 3 times, and then there are the polishing and finishing stages. Each kiln cycle lasts between 5 and 20 hours, during which time the kiln reaches temperatures of between 1300-1465`F. Due to the many different stages, it may take 4 or 5 days to complete a design. Each piece is contemporary in design and bursting with colour, using the highest quality materials.
